Tanglin Black Powder Gin

Country of Origin : Singapore

Black Powder, Tanglin’s Navy Strength Gin, is a punch 58% ABV making it ideal as a cocktail gin, but still super smooth for sipping. Based on the Orchid Gin, Singapore’s first and award-winning gin, Tanglin tinkered with it slightly by bruising half of the juniper berries and adding whole fresh lemons yielding a well-rounded gin with a bright citrus note. Black Powder achieved its own first, by being awarded Singapore’s very first Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) in 2020, and followed that up with a second Double Gold at SFWSC 2021 as well as Best in Class - Navy Strength making it the world's best!

For drinks, the Black Power Gin mixes well with most cocktails, and is delicious on its own as a sipping gin. For a Gin and Tonic, its pairs well with the cardamon, pimento berry and ginger in Fever Tree’s Aromatic Tonic.

Singapore's First! The Merlion, hawker markets and Crazy Rich Asians...Singapore is known for many things, but one thing that wouldn’t necessarily come to mind is gin. However, Tanglin is changing this perception in a huge way. In 2018, Tanglin opened the first Gin distillery in Singapore. Tanglin refers to the Tanglin area, where spices were originally grown in Singapore. The tiger-infested land was cultivated to grow Sireh, Pepper, Nutmeg and Ginger. Singapore has a vibrant history as a stop on the Spice Trade Route and now finally its own Gin. Distilleries in Asia are on the rise but Tanglin still finds itself in a select company.
