Tanglin Orchid Gin

Country of Origin : Singapore

Singapore’s first and award-winning gin is designed to reflect the cultures and cuisines of its home country. Orchid Gin has a traditional botanic profile with many typical flavor notes found in European gins, such as Macedonian juniper, licorice and coriander. However, the addition of uniquely Asian flavors, such whole Indian Vanilla Beans, Java Pepper and Amchoor (a fruity spice powder created from unripe green mangoes and typically used in Indian and Pakistani cuisine), gives it a surprising edge that has rarely been experienced.

For drinks, the Orchid Gin makes an excellent Martini with Maidenii Dry White and the Distiller's choice is always a Negroni with equal measures. For a Gin and Tonic, it works well with Fever Tree Elderflower and a stick of cinnamon and slice of fresh orange to finish. For an extra lift a splash of Lime or Orange Bitters.

Singapore's First! The Merlion, hawker markets and Crazy Rich Asians...Singapore is known for many things, but one thing that wouldn’t necessarily come to mind is gin. However, Tanglin is changing this perception in a huge way. In 2018, Tanglin opened the first Gin distillery in Singapore. Tanglin refers to the Tanglin area, where spices were originally grown in Singapore. The tiger-infested land was cultivated to grow Sireh, Pepper, Nutmeg and Ginger. Singapore has a vibrant history as a stop on the Spice Trade Route and now finally its own Gin. Distilleries in Asia are on the rise but Tanglin still finds itself in a select company.
